Montagu Springs Resort offers fantastic amenities for families, including several pools and sports facilities, making it an excellent value for the money. The location is beautiful and provides great entertainment for kids. However, the condition of the chalets leaves much to be desired, with some maintenance issues that shouldn't be overlooked.

Rooms
7.0
The chalets were neat and clean, but they definitely need some upgrades. I experienced issues like a jammed sliding door and peeling paint in one room.
Service
8.0
I didn't have any complaints regarding the service; everything was handled properly during my stay.
Location

The resort's location is simply beautiful with plenty of activities for kids to enjoy.
Dining

Dining options were decent but not memorable, so I would recommend being open to exploring other nearby eateries.

Our stay at the resort was quite mixed. The location offers stunning mountain views and a peaceful atmosphere, which we loved. However, the rooms were in desperate need of upgrades, especially considering the cost. While the kids enjoyed the pool, cleanliness issues and outdated amenities put a damper on our overall experience.

Rooms
The rooms were unfortunately quite small and not well-maintained. We noticed old air conditioners and too many spider webs outside, which made the space feel uncomfortable. Rating: 4/10
Service
Service was acceptable, although I did find some staff members a bit off-putting. Although they were friendly, the check-in process was less than ideal, especially when policies changed without prior notice. Rating: 6/10
Location
The resort is set in the beautiful mountains of Montagu, which made for some relaxing views. It's quiet and immerses you in nature, although it could be better maintained. Rating: 7/10
Dining
Dining options were reasonable, but we didn't explore too much since we mainly focused on the children's activities. Our meals were decent but didn't stand out. Rating: 6/10
Facilities
The pool area was inviting, and the kids had a blast swimming. However, the shared pool setup was surprising and could be misleading. Rating: 7/10

While Montagu Springs has a stunning setting and some enjoyable facilities, my stay was marked by a mix of highs and lows. The chalets were clean and comfortable, although a bit dated, and the hot pool experience was fantastic. Unfortunately, the noise from other guests and issues with some amenities were detractors. Overall, it’s a decent getaway for family and friends, but improvements could definitely enhance the experience.

Rooms

The chalets were clean and comfortable, but I found some furniture and the heaters needed repairs. Our Jacuzzi deck had someone's blue undies left there during our stay, which was a bit off-putting.
Service
7.0
Service was generally good with friendly staff, but there were some inconsistencies with the cleaning between stays.
Location
8.0
The resort is beautifully located in nature with lots to explore nearby, but it was sometimes disrupted by loud music from other guests.
Dining
6.0
I found the dining reasonable in terms of quality, though the breakfast options weren't extensive.
Facilities
8.0
The pool area was quite nice, and the hot pool is a standout feature, though limited access during renovations was a disappointment.

5.0/10

The resort is in a beautiful setting, but I had a frustrating experience overall. The rooms are outdated and some basic amenities are lacking. The main pool area was overcrowded, and I was disappointed with the maintenance given the price we paid. While there are lovely views, the constant noise from other guests made it hard to relax.

Rooms
5.0
The chalet we stayed in was dirty and had mismatched old furniture. The air conditioning didn't work well, and there was a musty smell throughout.
Service
5.0
I found the service lacking, especially when issues arose in our chalet. It seemed like the staff couldn't do much since the unit was privately owned.
Location
6.0
The location had great views, but the noise from other guests was an issue. It felt a bit chaotic with day visitors mixing with hotel guests.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were reasonable but could use some improvement. I wasn't overly impressed with what was offered.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were disappointing, with only one overcrowded heated pool available during our visit. The hot springs were closed for renovations.

I had a mixed experience at Plettenberger Cottage. While the property is beautiful and has great potential, the unit we stayed in was in disrepair which detracted from the overall value. The warm swimming pool was a highlight during our stay, although the service could definitely use some improvement.

Rooms
The room was not clean and the condition was poor with torn furniture and a leaking shower. Rating: 3
Service
Service was lacking, especially since we were made to wait longer than necessary to check in and didn't receive any refreshments while waiting. Rating: 5
Location
The location is gorgeous, but the unit itself needs better upkeep to fully enjoy the surroundings. Rating: 7
Dining
We didn't have a great experience with dining; the options were not appealing and over-priced for what was served. Rating: 4
Facilities
The pool area was warm and enjoyable, which made up for some of the other shortcomings. Rating: 8
